Job summary

Brave Numbers is seeking a methodical Assistant Accountant to join our growing operations team. This fully remote role supports multiple small business clients with accurate bookkeeping, journal entries, and reconciliations from Mumbai or Pune, India.

You will work with cloud-based platforms and receive onboarding and mentorship, with a trajectory toward promotion to Accountant within 18–24 months based on performance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows.
• Proficient in spreadsheet analysis and cloud-based systems.
• Strong attention to accuracy and numeric detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with autonomy.
• Clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records for multiple clients, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Process vendor payments, AR, and employee reimbursements with accuracy.
• Classify transactions per accounting standards and client specs.
• Assist in monthly statements, variance analyses, and budget monitoring.
• Collaborate with internal staff to ensure integrity of records.
• Ensure compliance with local taxation and regulatory frameworks.
• Utilize cloud accounting platforms (Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero); training provided.
