Job summary

Dotlinkers IT recruitment is seeking an AI Platform Engineer for a contract role to build and operate the infrastructure that powers AI-enabled products. The position is remote and will own platform capabilities end-to-end, including LLM gateways, retrieval systems, agent workflows, evaluation frameworks, and developer tooling.

The role emphasizes reliability, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency, with a focus on production systems rather than model training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building or operating production AI systems such as retrieval platforms, LLM apps, agent systems, or AI developer tools.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and experience with distributed systems.
• Understanding of reliability, concurrency, idempotency, consistency, failure modes, and secure multi-tenant architectures.
• Familiarity with AI system evaluation, retrieval quality, and trade-offs between quality, latency, and cost.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and setting measurable success criteria (SLOs).
• Knowledge of secure AI execution, least-privilege access, auditability, and policy enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Own AI platform deliverables from problem definition through production launch, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
• Design, build, and maintain platform capabilities (LLM gateways, retrieval systems, agent workflows, evaluation frameworks, developer tooling).
• Define measurable success criteria and SLOs; use production metrics to drive improvements.
• Build reliable, observable, and resilient systems with clear incident management.
• Develop interfaces, docs, reference implementations, and migration paths to ease platform adoption.
