Job summary

Lingaro seeks an experienced AI engineer to join the Data Science and AI Competency Center, within the AI Engineering team. You will build reusable AI capabilities and production-grade systems, including LLM-based experiences, retrieval pipelines, tool use, and agent workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on software engineering with production-grade AI or data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in Azure/AWS cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agents and their real-world trade-offs.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end AI systems across APIs, data pipelines, retrieval layers, evaluation workflows, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to define measurable quality criteria and evaluation approaches for AI systems.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering, Spec-Driven Development, and modern developer tooling.
• Strong architectural judgement with reusable patterns and cross-functional collaboration.
• Track record of cross-functional work from exploration to production rollout in agile environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to translate technical complexity for stakeholders.
• Adaptive mindset and continuous learning in fast-changing AI field.
• Master's degree in related technical field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve shared AI capabilities and accelerators for multiple products.
• Design and implement production-grade AI systems including LLM-based experiences and agent flows.
• Create specs, evals, interface definitions, and workflow contracts for clarity and delivery.
• Define evaluation-driven development loops for AI systems covering quality, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify cross-product opportunities and patterns.
• Contribute to AI-native engineering practices, Spec-Driven Development, and automated testing.
• Apply guardrails for reliability, observability, security, and responsible AI.
• Prototype new approaches turning AI capabilities into scalable building blocks.
• Support and guide engineers through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Align implementation choices with customer value and delivery feasibility with AI PM/PO.
