Job summary

Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft is seeking an AI Model Governance and Validation Specialist to strengthen governance, validation, and regulatory compliance for AI/ML use across the bank. You will lead independent validations, collaborate with model developers and business units, and help ensure responsible and transparent AI deployment.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, bias and explainability considerations, and close cooperation with the MRM team to advance a robust AI governance framework

Qualifications

• Experience in model risk management or validation of AI/ML models.
• Knowledge of AI/ML regulations (EU AI Act) and regulatory landscape in finance.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with Python, R, SQL or equivalent.
• University degree in a quantitative discipline (CS/Math/Stats/Data Science/Engineering).

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the risk management framework for AI/ML in line with advances in technology and regulation.
• Drive AI governance and model risk standards with stakeholders to foster a risk-aware culture.
• Assess risks from AI use cases, identify control gaps and propose mitigations.
• Plan and perform independent validations or provide expert guidance to business units.
• Support inventory management and risk reporting for AI systems.
