Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Software Development Engineer for its EBMS Real-Time Data Platform team in Kraków. You will design, build, and maintain real-time BMS data pipelines ingesting telemetry from thousands of building management systems.

You will own the full lifecycle of stream-processing apps from design to production with emphasis on uptime, observability, and fault tolerance. The role requires strong Java skills, hands-on Flink or equivalent experience, and AWS expertise (Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Strong proficiency in Java with production-level experience.
• Hands-on experience with stream-processing frameworks (Flink, Spark Streaming, Kafka Streams).
• Experience with AWS: Kinesis Data Streams, DynamoDB, S3, Athena, CloudWatch, IAM.
• Experience delivering 99%+ uptime and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts including exactly-once semantics and checkpointing.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK/CloudFormation/Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Apache Flink stream-processing applications for real-time data ingestion and enrichment.
• Build and maintain Amazon Kinesis Data Streams infrastructure including shard management and auto-scaling policies.
• Implement comprehensive observability with CloudWatch dashboards, tracing, logging, and tiered alerting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across the ingestion-to-serving stack (Kinesis, Flink, DynamoDB, S3, Athena).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for pipeline components to ensure repeatable deployments.
• Implement data quality monitoring including schema drift detection and null-rate checks across sites.
