Job summary

Xebia is seeking a Senior Data Streaming Engineer to join a dedicated Streaming team. You will build and operate production-grade streaming solutions based on Kafka-compatible technology and Apache Flink, while coding in Go and running on AWS and Kubernetes.

The role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and real-time data processing in a cloud-native environment, collaborating across engineers to evolve the platform and practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience with Kafka-compatible event-streaming technologies.
• Practical understanding of Kafka concepts: partitions, consumer groups, delivery guarantees, schema evolution.
• Experience developing stream-processing solutions with Apache Flink.
• Understanding of Flink concepts: event time, watermarks, state management, checkpoints.
• Experience developing services/components in Go.
• Experience working with AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving skills in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-grade, Kafka-compatible event-streaming solutions.
• Manage partitions, consumer groups, delivery guarantees, and schema evolution.
• Develop and maintain stream-processing apps using Apache Flink.
• Work with event time, watermarks, state management, and checkpoints.
• Develop services and components in Go.
• Deploy and operate streaming workloads on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and operational stability of streaming systems.
• Investigate production issues and optimize performance and resilience.
• Collaborate with engineers to evolve the streaming platform.
