Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Senior DataOps Engineer in Kraków to lead the design and deployment of a secure, hybrid cloud data platform on AWS. You will build scalable data pipelines, implement tokenization, and manage real-time streaming with MSK and Schema Registry as part of a Medallion Lakehouse approach.

You will work with cutting-edge technologies (Iceberg, Protegrity, Spark UDFs) and collaborate across Data Science, Cloud/Platform, Security, and Governance teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or DataOps Engineer building enterprise-grade data platforms and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the AWS Data Platform foundation.
• Build scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using EMR (Serverless and EMR-on-EKS), Spark/PySpark, Flink, and Athena.
• Implement data tokenization and de-identification pipelines using Protegrity/Spark UDFs and Kafka Connect SMT.
• Build and manage real-time streaming architectures with Amazon MSK and Schema Registry integration.
• Apply Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for lakehouse data modeling and automating Iceberg table registration.
• Execute data migration waves across non-PII and PII datasets using AWS DataSync and streaming configs.
• Configure data access control and governance using Lake Formation, Macie, and Informatica Axon/EDC.
• Establish DataOps observability with CloudWatch, FinOps cost monitoring, and automated alerts.
• Author runbooks, DR procedures, and cutover/rollback plans for data platform hardening.
