Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Java Engineer in Kraków to design scalable backend systems with Spring Boot and microservices. You will build real-time streaming platforms using Kafka and in-memory stores like Redis, while ensuring robust security with Azure AD and OAuth.

The role involves Docker/Kubernetes on Azure and collaboration across global teams. You will apply AI-assisted development practices and contribute to architecture decisions to guarantee resilience and maintainability in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java development with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with ORM frameworks such as JPA and iBatis.
• Security experience with Azure AD and OAuth.
• Experience with Kafka, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL and Redis for data streaming and storage.
• Familiarity with REST, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven and Gradle.
• Understanding of microservices and data streaming architectures.
• Strong CS fundamentals and modern SDLC practices.
• Excellent communication to translate business needs into global solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java-based backend solutions using Spring Boot and microservices.
• Build real-time streaming and time-series data platforms with high throughput.
• Architect using Kafka, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL and Redis for distributed data processing.
• Implement security using Azure AD and OAuth across enterprise apps.
• Deploy and manage containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes on Azure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into global solutions.
• Apply AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Contribute to solution architecture decisions for resilience and scalability.
• Participate in full SDLC and manage dependencies with Maven/Gradle.
