Job summary

Takeda seeks an Associate Director to join the R&D Asset Transition and Integration Office in Warsaw, Poland. You will lead and support end-to-end R&D asset transitions, coordinating with external partners and internal functions to ensure compliant, timely outcomes.

The role demands strong program management skills, deep knowledge of R&D processes, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and data transfers across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field; advanced degree welcomed.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in pharma/biotech R&D strategy and operations or program management.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of multi-functional programs.
• Delivery in global matrixed environments.
• Knowledge of R&D processes (clinical development, regulatory, safety, quality) during transitions.
• Experience with external counterparts (partners, CROs, vendors).
• Understanding of data and records management (regulatory data transfer, system transitions).
• Familiarity with global R&D systems and infrastructure during transitions.
• Fluent English for global governance forums.
• Preferred: R&D alliance management, business development (M&A integration, divestment, in-licensing).
• Preferred: regulatory filing transfers and migration of clinical/safety/regulatory systems.
• Preferred: contract literacy.
• Preferred: budget forecasting, tracking and closeout for program spend.
• Preferred: cross-cultural/time zone collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support assigned R&D asset transitions end-to-end, defining scope, sequencing, and end state.
• Translate contract obligations and transition plans into operational work plans with owners and dates.
• Act as operational contact with external partners, licensors, buyers, and vendors.
• Coordinate delivery across Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Operations, Biostatistics, QA, Procurement, Legal and IT.
• Manage study closeout, regulatory withdrawal, trial transparency obligations, and financial reconciliation.
• Establish governance cadence and brief senior leadership and external representatives.
• Execute data transfers, regulatory filing transitions, and system migrations/decommissioning.
• Recommend process improvements to address challenges across the transition lifecycle.
• Share best practices and contribute to playbooks and tools.
