Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Python Technical Lead to drive the design and development of distributed backend solutions. You will lead a team of 5+ data engineers to deliver API backends for deploying and querying models on Azure Databricks.

The role requires 8+ years in data engineering with leadership experience, deep Python expertise, and strong Azure cloud proficiency. Hybrid work in Poland with opportunities for remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in Python and data engineering libraries (Python Core, Multithreading, Async, REST API, Exceptions, Pydantic).
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Databricks, Azure App Service, IAM/RBAC).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of backend platform capabilities in a restricted Azure Greenfield environment.
• Design an API to enable querying of models by users.
• Mentor and manage a team of 5+ engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
