Job summary

DP CleanTech are seeking a UK-based project manager to lead the development of small Energy from Waste plants for UK market customers, based at their Wolverhampton office. A degree is not strictly required but a technical background with knowledge of GA drawings, 3D CAD models and P&IDs is essential.

You will chair project meetings, report progress to the UK MD and the global projects director, and manage an international project team.

Qualifications

• Degree level education with a technical background is essential.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in project management within industry.
• Experience with MS Project, Easy Project or similar tools.
• Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification.

Responsibilities

• Chair and lead project meetings, take minutes and track actions.
• Prepare project schedules, work packages and budgets.
• Provide engineering review materials and reporting updates.
• Develop relationships with international project team members.

Location: UK based – Wolverhampton office

Profile Requirement: degree level candidate with a technical background and more than 2-3 years’ experience in managing engineering-based projects

Other Reporting Line: Global Projects Director

Role Purpose

DP CleanTech are in the process of developing small Energy from Waste plants for UK market customers and are looking to employ an experienced UK based project manager at their office in Wolverhampton. The candidate does not need to have an engineering-based degree, however knowledge and understanding of technical documents like General Arrangement drawings, 3D CAD models, P&IDs etc. is essential. The role requires the candidate to have strong leadership skills and be able to present project updates to internal and external customers.

The project manager will report to the UK managing director directly, but operational daily tasks will be coordinated by the UK managing director and the global projects director.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate good interpersonal skills to manage an international project team, especially as DP CleanTech has team members based in various locations globally; be able to resolve project issues with the support of other stakeholders; chair project meetings; and be able to report project updates to the board of management or external clients.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Manage the DP CleanTech small waste incineration plant (SWIP) project:
  • Chair and lead project meetings
  • Prepare project meeting minutes and track actions
  • Prepare project time schedules and work package lists
  • Manage the project budget and report updates
  • Prepare engineering review meetings and decision documents
  • Prepare resource and capacity planning documents
  • Prepare and update technical specifications
• 2. Present project updates in a monthly steering committee review meeting
• 3. Prepare proposal documents for potential new customers
• 4. Prepare escalation documents for project issues, so that they can be resolved within a timely duration
• 5. Develop a strong working relationship with the project team members and keep them motivated
• 6. Support the business with project information for marketing events and sales activities

Required Skills

• Degree level education with a technical background is essential
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in project management within industry
• Experience of project management tools like Microsoft Project, Easy Project etc.
• Project Management qualification to Prince 2, or similar alternative
• Experience of chairing project meetings and managing team members
• Capable of understanding engineering documents such as drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications
• Strong leadership skills to keep projects moving forward
• Ability to speak another language is preferred but not essential
• Willingness to travel internationally as required
