Product Marketing & Growth Manager with open-source and developer/community experience — ICDC Open
About the role:
We are looking for a hands-on Product Marketing & Growth Manager with open-source and developer/community experience to help bring ICDC Open to market in Europe and the US.
ICDC Open is an open-source private cloud platform. The product is aimed at technical users and companies that operate their own infrastructure, including DevOps and Platform Engineering teams, MSPs, cloud providers, system integrators, and enterprise IT teams.
This role combines product marketing, demand generation, and community growth.
The main objective is to build a repeatable way to attract the right technical audience, bring users to the product, and convert product interest into Business users and qualified Enterprise opportunities.
What you will do:
- Own day-to-day promotion and demand generation for ICDC Open.
- Build and execute campaigns across relevant channels such as LinkedIn, Google, Reddit, YouTube, technical media, and developer communities.
- Grow and maintain the ICDC Open technical community.
- Drive users through the funnel.
- Create and coordinate technical content: articles, comparison materials, use cases, product updates, demos, webinars, and short-form content.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn technical product knowledge into clear market-facing messages.
- Manage email onboarding and follow-up communication with Community and Business users.
- Identify relevant technical publications, influencers, communities, and distribution partners.
- Track campaign and funnel performance and continuously improve acquisition channels.
- Identify users and companies showing Enterprise-level interest and hand them over for direct B2B engagement.
- Coordinate external writers, designers, video producers, and other contractors where needed.
What we are looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in B2B technology marketing, product marketing, demand generation, or growth.
- Experience marketing a technical B2B product such as cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, enterprise software, SaaS, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with open-source products or open-source go-to-market models.
- Experience building, growing, or managing developer / technical communities.
- Practical experience with lead generation and digital acquisition.
- Experience running or managing campaigns in LinkedIn Ads and/or Google Ads.
- Good understanding of marketing funnels, conversion metrics, CAC, and channel performance.
- Ability to understand technical products and communicate them to engineers, architects, and IT decision-makers.
- Strong English communication skills, including the ability to create or manage technical marketing content.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership rather than rely on a large marketing team.
Nice to have:
- Experience with infrastructure, virtualization, private cloud, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenStack, Proxmox, or related technologies.
- Experience marketing products to MSPs, cloud providers, or system integrators.
- Experience launching a technology product in Europe or the US.
- Existing relationships with developer communities, technical media, or industry influencers.
- Experience working in an early-stage product or startup environment.
- Basic familiarity with marketing automation, CRM, product analytics, and email onboarding tools.
How success will be measured – success in this role is not based only on traffic, impressions, or social media activity.
- qualified traffic to the product;
- downloads and registered installations;
- Business Trial registrations;
- conversion from Community to Business;
- cost per relevant registration / trial;
- number of qualified Enterprise opportunities;
- performance of individual acquisition channels;
- growth and engagement of the technical community.
What we expect in the first months:
- which channels bring relevant technical users;
- which audiences respond best;
- which messages and use cases generate interest;
- what helps users move from download to installation;
- what drives users toward Business Trial;
- which signals indicate real commercial interest.
The goal is to build a measurable and repeatable acquisition model, not simply increase marketing activity.
This is not a pure social media, communications, or performance marketing role.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working at the intersection of:
technical product + open source + community + demand generation + B2B growth.
The person should be able to both define the approach and execute it hands-on.
