Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Process Lead to shape manufacturing processes from early product design through industrialization and serial production. The role connects R&D and Manufacturing, supporting design decisions and building robust manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities include end-to-end DfA, PFMEA, control plans, process validation and process documentation, with global standardization and coaching to engineers. Travel and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
• 8+ years in manufacturing/industrialization or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation and manufacturing docs.

• Act as the manufacturing interface with R&D shaping product design through DfA and DFMEA.

Do you want to shape manufacturing processes from early product design through industrialization and serial production? As our Process Lead, you will have a key technical role connecting R&D and Manufacturing, supporting design decisions and building robust, scalable manufacturing solutions.

PE Nacelle Components hold end-to-end (E2E) responsibility for the performance and integration of all assembly steps within the Components area in Nacelle Segment. This includes ensuring that each process step functions effectively on its own, while also connecting seamlessly with upstream and downstream processes as well as multi-step system interfaces such as electrical connections, wire harnessing, hydraulics, and other cross-disciplinary technical elements. The organization ensures that no assembly step operates in isolation-every step must align technically, procedurally, and operationally with the overall product and manufacturing flow.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Design for Assembly (DfA) and manufacturing process development for your assigned process area, from early product development through industrialization and serial production
• Act as the key manufacturing interface with R&D, shaping product design through DfA and DFMEA to ensure robust, scalable and assembly-friendly solutions
• Own and continuously improve global process standards and key process deliverables, including PFMEA, Control Plans, process flows, work instructions and process parameters
• Define and optimize manufacturing concepts, process architecture, assembly sequences, line balancing, tooling requirements and production methods to satisfy safety, quality, cost and takt-time targets
• Govern manufacturing process changes and ensure technical compliance, process maturity and readiness across the product lifecycle
• Support Manufacturing Leads and factories throughout industrialization, prototype and early-build activities, resolving technical issues and ensuring operational readiness
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to process engineers and designers, while supporting process standardization, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the global organization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline
• Significant experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering or industrialization, we are looking for 8 years or more
• Solid experience with manufacturing and assembly processes, production systems and industrialization of new products
• Demonstrated practical experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation and manufacturing process documentation as well as experience in Windchill / Creo and exposure to change management processes
• Experience with Design for Assembly (DfA) and engaging with product development teams to improve manufacturability
• Experience supporting prototype, early-build and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through to manufacturing readiness
• Experience from an international manufacturing environment; this could be experience within automotive, aviation, heavy engineering/manufacturing, medical manufacturing or wind energy
• Solid sense of technical ownership, with the ability to take accountability for process performance, quality, safety, cost and manufacturing readiness
• Solid analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and turn findings into sustainable process improvements
• Ability to assess product designs from a manufacturability and assembly perspective and translate requirements into effective manufacturing concepts
• Solid collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and other global functions
• Ability to provide technical leadership, coaching and direction to engineers and process designers without direct people-management responsibility
• Comfortable challenging existing solutions and using data and manufacturing knowledge to influence technical decisions
• Clear and effective communicator who can operate confidently in a global, cross-functional engineering environment
