Job summary

UPM in Wroclaw is seeking a Process Controller for Global Functions Finance Tower. The role is hybrid, located at UPM Business HUB Poland in Wroclaw, reporting to Anne Hänninen.

You will provide end-to-end financial support, perform complex accounting, ensure compliance, and drive improvements across reporting and processes. The position requires a Bachelor's in finance/accounting/economics, 3+ years in controlling or reporting, proficiency with SAP, Onestream, and BI tools, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in controlling, financial planning, or management reporting in a shared service or GBS environment.
• Experience with internal controls, audit coordination, and compliance in an international corporate setting.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing principles, intercompany accounting, and cost allocation methodologies.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), consolidation and reporting tools (SAP Onestream), and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). AI skills are a plus.
• Continuous improvement mindset and experience working in cross-functional or multicultural teams.

Process Controller, Global Functions Finance Tower

Location: UPM Business HUB Poland in Wrocław. Hybrid working model combines remote work from home with regular on‑site collaboration.

This position reports to Anne Hänninen, VP, Business Hub Poland.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for end‑to‑end financial support within a defined function (fixed cost area).
• Perform complex accounting and business reporting tasks for the named area.
• Work closely with accountants and experts to ensure compliance.
• Ensure outsourcing partners have the needed on‑time information, coordinating and monitoring tasks performed by the outsourcing partner.
• Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement of accounting and reporting services, processes and tools.
• Participate in development projects.
• Report on own area and contribute to its short‑term development in cooperation with relevant stakeholders and teams.
• Conduct complex and proactive analytics within own area of responsibility.
• Create and maintain user instructions and training materials, and organize trainings when needed.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and effective accounting services.
• Ensure compliance with UPM internal controls, business rules, policies, guidelines, and legal requirements.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the manager.

Who You Are

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
• You have a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in controlling, financial planning, or management reporting in a shared service or GBS environment.
• You have experience with internal controls, audit coordination, and compliance in an international corporate setting.
• You possess good knowledge of transfer pricing principles, intercompany accounting, and cost allocation methodologies.
• You are proficient with ERP systems (SAP preferred), consolidation and reporting tools (e.g., SAP Onestream), and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau); AI skills are a plus.
• You have a continuous improvement mindset.
• You have experience working in cross‑functional or multicultural teams with good change management capabilities.
• You have analytical skills and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• You are fluent in English; knowledge of Polish or Finnish is an advantage.
