Job summary

InPost is building a FinTech platform powering payments for a major logistics and e-commerce ecosystem. We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to act as the organisation-wide technical authority, shaping architecture across Payments Core, Merchant, and Consumer domains and delivering production-grade AI-assisted engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in cross-team leadership or architecture authority.
• 5+ years designing distributed payments or fintech systems.
• 3+ years of agentic/LLM engineering in production.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems architecture: event sourcing, CQRS, domain events, saga pattern.
• Experience designing APIs at organizational boundaries: REST, async, event-based contracts.
• Strong grasp of database trade-offs and cloud architecture evaluation at scale.
• Hands-on experience with multi-agent orchestration and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Excellent technical writing for ADRs and RFCs for engineers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the cross-domain technical authority, arbitrating architecture decisions across Payments Core, Merchant, and Consumer platforms.
• Turn business strategy into technical roadmap input with leadership.
• Author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and RFCs for organization-wide decisions.
• Own and improve AI-assisted engineering workflows based on production data.
• Mentor Staff Engineers and Engineering Managers on architecture craft and tooling.
