About the role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Commercial Data Architect who will join a strategic global initiative for our client in the pharma sector. In this role, you will lead the design of a modern Commercial Service Backbone, defining the data architecture that powers Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Commercial Operations. You will play a key role in establishing enterprise-wide data standards, enabling AI-ready analytics, and driving the evolution of a scalable commercial data ecosystem.

What you will do

• Define and evolve the target commercial data architecture, enabling a unified view of customers, products, services, and commercial interactions across multiple platforms.
• Design enterprise-level conceptual and logical data models, taxonomies, ontologies, and domain-driven data structures for key commercial domains.
• Establish integration patterns and event-driven architectures connecting CRM, customer service, marketing, and analytics platforms.
• Drive semantic data standards, ensuring commercial data products are AI-ready, trusted, and suitable for conversational and agentic AI use cases.
• Lead architecture governance activities, influence strategic technology decisions, and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders globally.

What we are looking for

• 12+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Data Modeling within complex enterprise environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including relational, dimensional, document, and graph-based approaches.
• Strong understanding of commercial business domains such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Commercial Operations, and Master Data Management.
• Experience designing modern cloud-based data ecosystems, API-driven integrations, and event-driven architectures using technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Kafka, or similar platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business strategy into scalable enterprise data solutions.
