Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Payroll Process Specialist to drive continuous improvements across country-specific payroll processes. You will own the change order process, gather requirements, price changes, implement updates, and train teams.

You will maintain SOPs and documentation while coordinating with client teams and design authorities. The role requires 3–5 years in payroll outsourcing, hands-on EC Payroll and Payroll Control Centre experience, and strong English plus local language skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with payroll outsourcing in an enterprise BPO/outsourcing environment.
• Knowledge of payroll processes including payroll control centre, garnishments, and local authority reporting.
• Experience with Employee Central Payroll and payroll control centre is essential.
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering payroll services to multinational clients.
• Familiarity with SLAs and KPI measurement and reporting.
• Strong communication skills in English and local language.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

• Drive continuous process improvement by identifying optimization opportunities in country-specific processes
• Handle process deviations, determine their impact, and provide recommendations to local and global design authorities
• Own the change order process, including requirements gathering, pricing, implementation, documentation updates, and internal training
• Ensure global and local process standards are understood, implemented, and followed by country teams
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Detailed Work Instructions, guidelines, and other process documentation
• Develop training materials and train junior and mid-level team members
• Communicate with country teams, clients, and other key stakeholders regarding standards, procedures, and process changes
• Create or modify processes to meet global standards and local conditions
• Process complex payroll cases and act as a first escalation point for operating teams
• Produce accurate payroll in accordance with processes, standards, and contractual SLAs
• Participate in advanced testing and validation for system updates and configuration changes
• Assist with system implementations, testing, parallel processing, and UAT
• Communicate daily with client-designated contacts to ensure effective payroll processing
• Provide support, guidance, and training to Payroll Administrators
• Communicate with tax authorities and benefit providers when necessary
• Process year-end activities and generate statutory reports
• Support payroll delivery assurance for SAP Managed Payroll Services and BPO operations
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational excellence
• Support local HR business process standards and localization activities

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Payroll outsourcing within an enterprise business outsourcing environment
• Knowledge of payroll processes, including continuous payroll through payroll control centre, garnishments, payroll policies and controls, compliance controls, payment releases, and reporting to local authorities
• Practical experience with Employee Central Payroll and payroll control centre is essential
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering payroll services to multinational clients
• Knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and KPI measurement and reporting
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English and the local language
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet client needs efficiently
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize team tasks
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Experience in a Payroll and BPO outsourcing environment preferred
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, Concur, Workforce Management, and integration tooling is a plus
• Experience with inbound and outbound payroll interfaces is a plus
• CPP, CPS, or CPM certification is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement
