Job summary

CMC Markets is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to ensure accurate and timely UK payroll processing, benefits and employee share scheme administration. You will work with HR, Finance and providers to deliver high-quality, responsive service and ensure reconciliations and reporting meet deadlines.

Key duties include coordinating payroll inputs for the UK, performing reconciliations, preparing journals, and handling payroll queries.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll administration, ideally UK payroll.
  • Experience working with a third-party payroll provider.
  • Strong Excel skills and data handling capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Clear written and spoken communication; stakeholder support.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate payroll inputs and support submissions for the UK.
  • Perform input, output and variance reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll journals and documentation for review.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, HR, Finance and providers.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits and controls.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and compliance with policies.
  • Assist with benefits administration and monthly processing.
  • Reconcile pension contributions and invoices with providers.
  • Prepare MI for benefit providers and reconcile benefit invoices.
  • Maintain records for Season Ticket Loans and other employee loans.
  • Support share scheme administration and payroll reporting.

Job description

CMC Markets is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to support the accurate and timely delivery of UK payroll, benefits and employee share scheme administration. Working closely with HR, Finance, employees and third-party providers, you will help ensure payroll is processed accurately, reconciliations are completed within agreed deadlines, and employees receive a high-quality, responsive service.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Payroll: Coordinate payroll inputs and support payroll submissions for the UK.
  • Complete payroll input, output and variance reconciliations, investigating discrepancies where required.
  • Prepare payroll journals and supporting documentation for review and approval.
  • Respond promptly to payroll queries from employees, HR, Finance and external providers.
  • Prepare reports, reconciliations and documentation for internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant controls, policies and procedures.
  • Benefits and share schemes: Support the administration of the Flexible Benefits programme, including new-joiner enrolments and monthly processing.
  • Reconcile pension contributions against provider invoices and direct debits.
  • Prepare management information for benefit providers within agreed deadlines.
  • Support the processing and reconciliation of benefit provider invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records for Season Ticket Loans and other employee loans.
  • Support the administration of employee share schemes and ensure payroll reporting requirements are accurately communicated and processed.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally UK payroll.
  • Experience working with a third-party payroll provider.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills,
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organisation, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to handle confidential payroll, benefits and employee information with discretion.
