Job summary

MoneyGram, a global payments network, seeks a Partner Onboarding Specialist to lead partner due diligence and assist with ongoing compliance reviews. You will prepare documentation for approvals, manage KYC processes, and support technical onboarding of MoneyGram's systems to ensure accurate processing and reporting.

You will also help manage invoices, perform data analyses, and support collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and partner teams across time zones.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in payments, financial services, compliance, operations, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience conducting or supporting partner due diligence, vendor onboarding, or KYC/AML documentation processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; able to produce clear documentation, compliance submissions, and stakeholder-ready summaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams independently, meet deadlines, and operate with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Proactive communication style - keeps stakeholders informed across time zones and surfaces issues before they escalated.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end due diligence for new and existing payment partners and sponsor banks, including preparation and submission of all required documentation to obtain and maintain approval to process transactions.
  • Manage routine KYC processes, coordinating the collection, review, and submission of Know Your Customer documentation on MoneyGram's behalf.
  • Coordinate audited financials requests and other compliance document submissions as required by partners, networks, or regulatory bodies.
  • Support technical onboarding of MoneyGram's systems - working cross-functionally to ensure accounts are correctly configured for payment processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date compliance documentation and track renewal and review timelines to ensure no lapses in partner approval status.
  • Collaborate with internal Legal and Compliance teams to meet local and international regulatory standards across all partner relationships.
  • Assist in the management of Accounts Receivable / Payables ensuring proper reconciliation and invoice management.
  • Prepare data packages, trend analyses, and performance summaries ahead of regular business reviews with partners.
  • Support joint action plans developed during partner reviews, tracking follow-ups and ensuring commitments are met on both sides.
  • Assist in the development of business cases for changes in partner relationships, new product rollouts, or compliance-driven initiatives.
  • Partner with internal Analytics, Product, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams to support onboarding, performance management, and compliance objectives.
  • Document processes, data definitions, and due diligence requirements to ensure continuity and institutional knowledge.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects involving new payment product launches, compliance mandates, or strategic partner expansion.

About The Team

The Payments team within the Online Division owns the strategic relationships with the card networks, acquiring banks, and alternative payment providers that power our customers' funding options and receivers' funds availability. We are a focused, high-impact team operating at the intersection of payments operations, partner management, compliance, and analytics - ensuring MoneyGram is approved, configured, and performing optimally across every payment partnership.

Role Overview

We are looking for a payments-savvy, detail-oriented Partner Onboarding Specialist to join our team. The primary focus of this role is partner due diligence - both for new partner onboarding and ongoing compliance reviews. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting the documentation MoneyGram needs to be approved by payment partners and sponsor banks, managing routine KYC processes, coordinating audited financials requests, and supporting the technical onboarding of MoneyGram's systems to ensure accounts are correctly configured for processing, reconciliation, and reporting.

Beyond due diligence, you will support the Payments Partnership team to facilitate routine operational request and deliverables as assigned. Examples include the management of partner invoices and accounts payable processes, ensuring invoices are accurate and processed for payment timely.

Key Responsibilities
Partner Due Diligence (Primary Focus)

Requirements
Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with payment partner or sponsor bank onboarding, including familiarity with card network compliance requirements (Visa, Mastercard, or similar).
  • Knowledge of payment processing concepts such as merchant acquiring, card scheme rules, settlement, chargebacks, and alternative payment methods.
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention, AML, or operational compliance in a payments or fintech context.
  • Experience supporting system integrations or technical account configurations related to payment processing or reconciliation.
  • Background in consulting, vendor management, or client success within a global payments or fintech environment.
  • Experience working with distributed teams across significant time zone differences.
