Job summary

Auctane is seeking an experienced DBA to design, implement, and optimize our relational databases. You will ensure data integrity, availability, and performance across development, testing, and production environments, collaborating with IT and development teams.

The role emphasizes Oracle database administration, RMAN backups, security, and performance tuning, with on-call rotations and a hybrid work setup in Poland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration.
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in managing SQL database systems.
• Experience in installation, configuration, backup and recovery, security management, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and basic scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and auditing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Polish and English conversational level is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop database schemas, tables, and indexes to optimize performance.
• Implement and maintain database security measures (authentication, access controls, encryption).
• Analyze performance metrics to identify improvements.
• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software across environments.
• Perform upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal downtime.
• Manage Oracle homes, database instances, and listener configuration.
• Plan and execute version upgrades and compatibility changes.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot slow queries and locks.
• Maintain and review diagnostic reports (AWR/ASH-like) in SE2 environments.
• Document disaster recovery plans and RPO/RTO.
