Job summary

Auctane in Wroclaw is looking for a Database Engineer to design, implement, maintain and optimize relational databases (Postgres and SQL Server) hosted in AWS. You will ensure the integrity, availability and high performance of critical data to support operations across the business.

You will develop schemas, implement security, backups, and monitoring, collaborating with developers to align data structures with product needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
Strong knowledge of PL/pgSQL and T-SQL.
Experience with AWS RDS and database design principles.
Knowledge of security, backup and disaster recovery practices.

Responsibilities

Develop database schemas, tables and indexes for performance and integrity.
Implement and maintain database security, including authentication and encryption.
Analyze and interpret performance metrics to identify improvements.
Monitor and troubleshoot slow queries, locks and resource contention.
Tune indexes, queries and configurations to improve scalability.
Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
Configure replication, clustering or failover for resilience.
Review code for database best practices and performance guidelines.
Collaborate with developers to align schemas with requirements.
Assist in backups, recovery and disaster planning.
Stay updated on new database technologies and best practices.
