Job summary

At SQUAD Ukraine Limited, we are seeking an Optical Engineer to join our Image Quality team. You will tackle R&D tasks, perform optical testing, and support hardware qualification for our IoT and smart home security product lineup.

You will work in our lab, collaborating with hardware engineers to specify and qualify optical components, evaluate imaging performance, and develop measurement methods for comprehensive image quality assessments.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Optical Sciences, Optical Physics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with optical design tools (Zemax or Speos preferred; LightTools, ASAP, or Code V are a plus).
• Solid understanding of core optical components (imaging optics, lightguides, illumination optics).
• Ability to learn and adopt new optical design tools and methods.
• At least an Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B1).

Responsibilities

• Specify, select, and qualify optical components for camera modules
• Evaluate how optical elements affect overall camera image quality
• Develop and refine measurement methods for comprehensive image performance evaluation
• Analyze, test, and qualify illumination systems
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop illumination sub-systems.
