Job summary

SQUAD Ukraine Limited is seeking a Lead Applied Scientist to drive full-cycle research development in the sensors domain from its Poland base. You will guide a team and report to the Head of Research, combining technical leadership with people management.

You will lead 4–8 Applied Scientists, own CV features, prototype new computer vision and sensor innovations, and collaborate with the data team to evaluate tests and optimize algorithms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in research, data science, or data analysis.
• 1+ years leading a research group or technical team on data science projects.
• Strong software engineering background with production-ready solutions.
• Deep knowledge of computer vision algorithms.
• Proficient in Python and CS fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4-8 Applied Scientists to advance research projects and algorithmic performance using a mix of state-of-the-art or 'classical' techniques.
• Own and maintain existing CV features.
• Prototype new features within computer vision and sensor domains.
• Coordinate with the data team to analyze research test data, develop evaluation metrics, and optimize algorithms.
