LyondellBasell is seeking an Operations Manager for the Gniewkowo manufacturing site. You will lead production teams, drive safety, quality, and efficiency improvements, and collaborate across functions to meet targets and budgets.

The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Gniewkowo manufacturing site. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, this role leads and develops the production team, drives continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance, and promotes effective collaboration across the organization to achieve operational and business objectives.

A Day in the Life
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a zero-incident workplace (Goal ZERO).
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure all production employees understand and follow company safety policies and operational procedures.
  • Manage day-to-day production operations to ensure production targets, service levels, and on-time delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Oversee shop-floor activities and ensure efficient utilization of equipment, resources, and production capacity.
  • Review manufacturing processes and material flows, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with Quality teams to ensure products consistently meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Support the implementation of operational excellence initiatives, new manufacturing standards, and capital investment projects (CAPEX).
  • Coordinate and manage improvement and investment projects, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development of the annual Production Department budget in cooperation with the Financial Controller.
  • Monitor departmental spending and operational costs, ensuring effective cost control while maintaining product quality and operational reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Develop, monitor, and report key production performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare regular production reports and present operational results to management and departmental teams.
  • Analyze performance trends and recommend actions to improve results.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Analyze production performance and identify opportunities to improve yields, resource utilization, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and support a culture of operational excellence across the production function.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop production teams, fostering a strong performance-oriented, collaborative, and safety-focused culture.
  • Manage workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance management, and employee development in partnership with HR.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily production activities, ensuring effective task allocation, team performance, and achievement of operational objectives.
  • Cooperate closely with Finance, HR, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, and other departments to support operational performance and business objectives.
  • Represent the Production Department during customer audits, corporate meetings, industry events, and training activities.
  • Act as a role model for Company values and promote those values through everyday leadership and decision-making.
You Bring This Value
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Production Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, including managing production teams and overseeing production processes.
  • Experience in project management and driving operational or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams while effectively planning and prioritizing work.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple functions.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
