Smith+Naphew in Wroclaw is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Supply Chain Planning Data Science Pod. You will develop AI-powered planning solutions to improve forecasting, inventory optimisation and planning efficiency, collaborating with global stakeholders across cross-functional teams.

The role focuses on translating business challenges into modelling solutions, validating models, and embedding them into planning processes to drive measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Experience in data science or applied analytics with a strong foundation in machine learning and statistical modelling.
• Proficiency in Python and experience working across the full model lifecycle, from development through deployment and monitoring.
• Ability to translate business problems into scalable analytical solutions that deliver measurable value.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate machine learning and optimisation models for demand, supply and inventory planning.
• Translate business challenges into modelling solutions and ensure outcomes are measurable.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers to explore data and produce production-ready solutions.
• Embed analytics into planning processes to enable action from model outputs and improve forecasting accuracy.
