Smith+Nephew is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a Data Science Pod focused on creating AI-powered planning solutions for demand, supply and inventory management. The role blends technical leadership, business engagement and change management across planning teams.

You will drive model development, deployment, and adoption while coaching DS professionals to elevate practices and deliver measurable value at scale. Hybrid work is supported with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in machine learning, time series forecasting and analytics.
• Experience delivering production-ready data science solutions that influence decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficient in Python; experience with MLOps and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience leading or mentoring a Data Science team is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Data Science Pod to design, build and deploy ML and optimisation solutions.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Planning and Centre of Excellence to shape value use cases.
• Ensure solutions are embedded into planning systems and business processes.
• Drive adoption, measurable outcomes and better business decisions.
• Coach data scientists and promote best practices across the team.
