Job summary

Amaris Consulting seeks an Electrical Diagnostics Consultant to support automotive engineering projects on-site. You will diagnose faults, analyze electrical systems, and implement corrective actions to enhance vehicle reliability and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults in harnesses, ECUs, and CAN networks, coordinating with service and quality teams, and reporting findings to customers. The role requires travel readiness and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with automotive electrical systems.
• Field diagnostics and troubleshooting on in-service vehicles.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture, harnesses, ECUs, and interfaces.
• Ability to read and modify electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of CAN communication systems.
• Experience with automotive diagnostic tools (Vector or similar).
• Experience with 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults directly at customer sites on vehicles in operation.
• Analyse root causes of electrical system failures.
• Take immediate technical action during breakdowns and escalation.
• Analyse faults related to electrical harnesses, controllers, ECUs, and interfaces.
• Coordinate technical actions with service, quality, and construction teams.
• Communicate technical findings to customers.
• Prepare technical reports and document failures after interventions.
• Develop and implement corrective actions for design improvements.
