Hitachi Energy in Kraków seeks a Research Scientist with expertise in Machine Learning for Simulations to advance simulation-based engineering and energy-transition technologies. You will join a dynamic team, merging theory with practice to create, test, and validate new ML-driven simulation approaches for power grids.

You will collaborate with a global network of researchers, publish results, and contribute to patents and technical reports.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS/Math/Engineering or related field.
• Experience applying ML to numerical simulations and surrogate models.
• Design, implement and run ML training and inference pipelines for industry.
• Familiarity with CFD-type simulations and power-grid tools.
• Proficiency in Python packages and software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global research teams to apply ML to simulation-based engineering.
• Lead ML research projects to improve simulations for power grids.
• Develop ML-driven simulation pipelines and automate processes.
• Publish results, file patents, and share findings with partners.
