Hitachi Energy Poland SP. Z O.O. is seeking a Research Scientist to advance machine learning for simulations in the Kraków research center. You will create, test, and validate ML-based methods to enhance numerical simulations for power grids and related systems.

The role combines theory and practical implementation, with opportunities to publish research and collaborate with universities and open-source communities. Strong English required and interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with machine learning and AI in conjunction with numerical simulations.
• Experience in designing ML training and inference pipelines for industrial applications.
• Understanding simulation solvers and CFD-type simulations.
• Proficiency with Python packages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global researchers to apply ML to simulations for power grids.
• Lead research projects to improve ML-driven simulation pipelines.
• Develop surrogate models to increase simulation efficiency and automate workflows.
• Publish results and share knowledge with internal and external partners.
