Job description

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as a:

Master Data Specialist

Be part of the movement-and play your part.

For our Master Data Products team, we are looking for someone who enjoys working with product data, understands operational processes, and knows how accurate data supports retail operations and customer experience.

If you have experience with Master Data, ERP systems, or working with large operational datasets, this role will be a great fit. This is not a Business Analyst or BI position–it is a hands-on, process-driven role with a strong impact on daily operations.

About the role:

As a Master Data Specialist, you will collaborate with local business units and cross-functional teams across multiple countries. Your main responsibility will be to create, maintain, and ensure the quality of product data for DFDS duty-free shops on board vessels and in ports. You will also help improve Master Data processes by identifying gaps, suggesting improvements, and supporting standardisation efforts. Your work will directly influence operational efficiency and customer experience.

What you will do:
Daily operational tasks
  • Create, maintain, and update product records in DFDS system

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of pricing, units of measure, and categorisation

  • Support bulk updates, data clean-up, and product standardisation

Data quality & analysis
  • Work with large datasets in Excel using functions such as XLOOKUP, MAX IF, TRIM, ROUND, LEN, LEFT, and RIGHT

  • Validate pricing updates, compare datasets, and identify inconsistencies

  • Investigate issues raised by onboard teams and Category Managers

  • Identify root causes and elevate to technical team where needed

Process quality & improvements
  • Monitor how Master Data moves through the organisation and identify areas for improvement.

  • Suggest changes that increase data accuracy and make processes more efficient.

  • Represent the Master Data team in cross-functional discussions and ensure standards are followed.

Organising your work
  • Manage tasks through ticketing systems

  • Prioritise multiple requests in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborate closely with your team and stakeholders across countries (Denmark, Lithuania, France, UK, Spain)

Work environment
  • Hybrid model: 2–3 days per week in our Poznań office.

  • For new joiners, we recommend spending the first 2–3 weeks in the office for smooth onboarding.

  • We value teamwork, shared lunches, and regular team-building activities.

Who will succeed in this role

Someone who:

  • Has 3–4 years of experience in Master Data or similar roles

  • Is comfortable working in English (min. B2 level)

  • Has strong Excel skills and enjoys working with large datasets

  • Has an analytical mindset and strong attention to detail

  • Is a team player who shares knowledge and supports others

  • Is curious, proactive, and enjoys solving problems
