Job summary

Marine 2-Stroke Consultant & Service GmbH is seeking a practical Service Technician to join our field team. You will work directly on 2-stroke engines and auxiliary equipment, performing maintenance, repairs, and on-site troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation.

Travel worldwide (60–80%) to ships and shipyards, collaborating with senior engineers in an international setting, and developing your hands-on skills in a challenging marine environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical service, ship repair, or similar technical field.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, machinery, or hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair work on 2-stroke engines and auxiliary systems
• Disassemble, inspect, overhaul, and reassemble engine components
• Perform troubleshooting and fault finding under guidance or independently
• Support measurements, clearances, and adjustments according to maker's instructions
• Work closely with Superintendent Engineers and team leaders on-site
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
• Provide clear feedback and basic reporting after service jobs
• Travel worldwide to ships, shipyards, and ports
