Job summary

WW Technic, an engineering services company for shipbuilding, repair and offshore, seeks a Service Engineer / Service Superintendent to maintain and overhaul large 2-stroke diesel engines on sea-going vessels worldwide.

You will inspect, repair, modify, and troubleshoot engines, coordinating with ship crews and clients while ensuring safety, efficiency, and emissions compliance. Travel involves 2-week assignments, totalling 6–7 months on-site annually, with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• University degree in marine propulsion systems, marine or mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of 2-stroke diesel engines.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel worldwide for assignments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, including scavenge port inspections and measurements.
• Overhaul key components: pistons, cylinder liners, exhaust valves, fuel injection equipment, bearings.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electronic control faults and identify root causes.
• Analyze engine performance and tune parameters for efficiency.
• Coordinate on-site work with crews, owners, class surveyors and subcontractors.
• Prepare service reports and provide recommendations after assignments.
