Job summary

HMB LINTEC marine is seeking a Service Engineer – Mechanical/ Hydraulic for permanent, full-time work based in Buxtehude, with worldwide deployment across Kiel, Poland, Rotterdam, Singapore, and beyond. You will repair crane systems, troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical components, and prepare service reports while coordinating with the electrical team.

You should have mechanical vocational training and strong hands-on experience, plus fluent German and English, and a readiness to travel 90–95%

Responsibilities

• Replacing hydraulic components and hoses as needed on-site.
• Replacing or overhaul of mechanical components on site and preparing service reports.
• Collaborating closely with electrical department colleagues.
• Inspecting and maintaining shipboard crane systems and preparing inspection reports.

HMB LINTEC marine is a traditional engineering and service company with an office, warehouse, and small workshop in Buxtehude near Hamburg. We design, build, maintain, and repair crane and lifting systems that operate in some of the most demanding environments in the world – built to work where others can’t. We are looking to fillseveral permanent, full-time positions as Service Engineer – Mechanical/ Hydraulic, basedout of Buxtehude for worldwide deployment — from Kiel to Poland, Rotterdam to Singapore, and South America.

• Repairing crane systems according to operating instructions, as well as checking and adjusting safety equipment
• Troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical systems using dedicated tools and equipment
• Replacement of hydraulic components and hoses
• Replacement or overhaul of mechanical components on site
• Preparing service reports
• Close collaboration with colleagues from the electrical department

Inspection & Maintenance

• Inspecting shipboard cranes according to the inspection checklist, as well as preparing inspection reports and repair recommendations
• Acceptance-testing of land-based crane systems in accordance with occupational safety regulations
• Commissioning of electro-hydraulic crane system in collaboration with the service team
• Adjusting mechanical components, valves, pumps and motors

Your profile:

• Mechanical vocational training, e.g. plant construction or agricultural machinery mechanic, industrial locksmith, or mechatronics technician, ideally with experience in crane service and/or crane construction
• Solid practical experience in troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems
• Good German and English skills (written/spoken)
• High flexibility for worldwide assignments, involving a travel share of approximately 90–95%
• Solution-oriented, highly structured, and communicative personality with strong team spirit
