Job summary

UPM, a global materials company, is seeking a Manager, Master Data & Digitalization in Wroclaw to lead the MDM strategy and a team of Solution Owners and Analytics professionals.

You will drive digitalization initiatives, work with IT and business stakeholders, and shape scalable data management services that create business value through data-driven transformation.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree and 7+ years in Master Data Management, Data Governance or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the MDM solution landscape, ensuring service readiness and delivery across full lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement and digitalization of Master Data Management services.
  • Identify, design, and implement enhancements with stakeholders and IT.
  • Translate business requirements into solution requirements and ensure effective implementation.
  • Explore emerging technologies to improve MDM processes and user experience.
  • Participate in data governance forums and promote best practices.
  • Lead development of new digital capabilities and analytics solutions for MDM.
  • Lead a team of Solution Owners and Analytics professionals, fostering collaboration.
  • Drive demand management and backlog prioritization to align business and tech.

UPM is a material solutions company, renewing products and entire value chains with an extensive portfolio of renewable fibres, advanced materials, decarbonization solutions, and communication papers. In Poland, UPM is running two factories near Wrocław, Human Resources Services in Kraków and UPM Business Hub at the heart of the city of Wrocław. At the moment, the Wrocław Hub brings together over 700 professionals in customer, supplier and financial services.

What you will do
  • Own and oversee the MDM solution landscape, ensuring service readiness, business continuity, and successful delivery of maintenance and development initiatives across the full lifecycle, from planning and design through implementation, go-live, and hypercare, in collaboration with IT, implementation partners, and other stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement and digitalization of Master Data Management services by identifying opportunities to automate data management processes and enhance service delivery
  • Identify, design, and implement solution enhancements and process improvements in close collaboration with Master Data Process Owners, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Translate business requirements into solution requirements and ensure effective implementation through collaboration with IT, external partners, and relevant stakeholders
  • Explore and evaluate existing and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to improve MDM processes, data quality, operational efficiency, and user experience
  • Actively participate in data-related forums, governance bodies, and professional networks, providing solution expertise and promoting best practices in data management
  • Lead the development and implementation of new digital capabilities, applications, and analytics solutions supporting Master Data Management objectives
  • Lead a team of Solution Owners and Analytics professionals, fostering collaboration, capability development, and synergies across domains to support end‑to‑end MDM service delivery
  • Drive structured demand management and idea-to‑delivery processes, including management of Ideas & Opportunities backlogs, ensuring prioritization, transparency, and alignment between business needs and technical execution
Who you are
  • You have master’s degree and 7+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Digitalization, or a related field
  • You have minimum 3 years of managerial experience with direct responsibility for people leadership and team development
  • You have proven leadership experience in an international business environment
  • You have experience driving digital solutions, process improvements, and transformation initiatives
  • You have experience working with enterprise platforms and tools supporting Master Data Management and digitalization initiatives, e.g Stibo STEP (Stibo Systems Enterprise Platform) or other Master Data Management system, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps
  • You have strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • You are able to collaborate effectively across business, IT, and external partners
  • You have strategic mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement
  • You are fluent in English; other languages are considered an asset
