Job summary

Paessler GmbH is seeking a Manager IT Systems Administration to plan, implement, and continuously improve our internal IT infrastructure. You will lead a team of system administrators and Service Desk, ensuring reliability, security, and performance so Paessler colleagues can work smoothly.

You will both provide strategic direction and perform hands-on system changes, resolving incidents and service requests quickly. This permanent role is based in Krakow with a full-time contract only.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of professional experience in system engineering, administration, and IT leadership.
• Deep knowledge of firewalls and network architecture.
• Hands-on with on-premise virtualization and cloud platforms.
• Strong Windows and Linux server administration across install, patch, monitor, and optimize.

Responsibilities

• Provide disciplinary leadership to the System Administration/IT Service Desk team.
• Ensure stable and secure operation of internal IT infrastructure including servers and networks.
• Lead regular team meetings and coordinate cross-functional collaboration with VP of IT and external providers.
• Establish KPIs for the IT team and drive adoption of new AI tools and workloads.

Job description

As Manager IT Systems Administration, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of our internal IT infrastructure. You lead a team of system administrators as well as our Service Desk, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of all IT systems and services so that our Paessler colleagues can work smoothly. In this hands‑on role, you not only provide strategic direction but also perform system changes yourself and make sure incidents and service requests are resolved quickly and professionally. Please note that we can only consider applicants that are based in Krakow and surrounding areas and that this role is offered in a full time employment contract only. We cannot offer a B2B model.

Team Leadership & Personnel Management

• Provide disciplinary leadership to the System Administration/IT Service Desk team
• Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development
• Foster a culture of responsibility, transparency, and knowledge sharing
• Encourage team autonomy and continuous improvement
• Manage capacity and resource planning, as well as assisting in budget planning

Operational Excellence

• Ensure the stable and secure operation of all internal IT infrastructure, including servers, clients, networks, and systems
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex incidents or system outages
• Act as lead on network design and implementation
• Track, prioritize, and delegate service tickets and project tasks
• Oversee documentation and ensure compliance with IT and security policies
• Support the roll‑out and continuous development of IT platforms and tools

Coordination & Communication

• Lead regular team meetings and coordinate cross‑functional collaboration
• Liaise with the VP of IT and external service providers
• Communicate team achievements, challenges, and status updates to stakeholders
• Ensure smooth cooperation with Information Security and Compliance functions

Objectives of the Role

• Establish a stable and efficient system and network administration environment
• Strengthen team capabilities through leadership, coaching, and development
• Support the broader IT goals under the strategic direction of the VP of IT
• IT Improve service delivery and user satisfaction across the organization
• Establish and meet KPIs for the IT team, including adoption of AI tools and workloads

Your Profile

• 7–10 years of professional experience in system engineering, system administration, and IT leadership roles
• Proven leadership experience in guiding and developing IT teams
• Deep knowledge of firewalls and network architecture
• Extensive experience with Microsoft environments, especially active Directory design, administration, and troubleshooting
• Hands‑on experience with on‑premise virtualization technologies and cloud platforms
• Strong skills in Microsoft and Linux server administration, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and performance optimization
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into language that stakeholders and management can understand
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken; German is a plus
• Cloud certifications (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS) are highly beneficial
• Network administration certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+ or comparable) are an advantage
