Job summary

Jobtailor in Warsaw seeks an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead end-to-end accounting, financial close, IFRS compliance, and statutory reporting.

You will manage the GL, reconciliations, audits, and tax computations, develop a high-performing team, drive process improvements, and coordinate with external auditors and stakeholders. Timely financial statements will be a key focus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
• 10+ years in accounting, financial reporting, or compliance; at least 3 years in people leadership.
• Experience in Global Business Services, Shared Services, or multinational environments.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, GL accounting, audits, tax accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience with SAP or S/4HANA ERP systems.
• Fluent English; strong problem solving and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
• Continuous-improvement mindset and customer-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end accounting, financial close, compliance, and reporting activities.
• Ensure IFRS, local GAAP, internal controls, and statutory requirements are met.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee GL accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Coordinate statutory and group financial statements and tax computations.
• Manage internal and external audits, including planning and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with finance, tax, legal, compliance, and external auditors.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team and promote engagement.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Oversee process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support finance transformation programs and system implementations.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, internal controls, IFRS, local GAAP, and statutory requirements
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
• Coordinate the preparation and review of statutory and group financial statements as well as income tax computations and returns
• Manage internal and external audits, including planning, documentation, issue resolution, and follow-up activities
• Collaborate closely with finance, tax, legal, compliance teams, and external auditors
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team while supporting an engaged workplace
• Build positive stakeholder relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent is an advantage
• 10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial compliance and at least 3 years in people leadership
• Previous experience in developing teams
• Background in a Global Business Services, Shared Services, or multinational environment
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, general ledger accounting, financial close processes, audits, tax accounting, and internal controls
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or S/4HANA
• Fluency in English
• Skilled in problem solving, working with stakeholders, and clear communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high attention to detail
