limango GmbH - A member of the Otto group in Poland (Wrocław area) is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for our ML Shop team. You’ll own the business-critical logic behind campaign-based ranking, improve recommender systems, and help prevent churn in a fast, data-driven online shop.

Work with Product Owners, Data Engineers and Web Developers in an agile environment, building scalable ML / data pipelines and delivering value to our markets in Poland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of professional ML experience in production environments.
• Strong Python, SQL, and Git knowledge.
• Experience training/validating ML solutions and scaling models.
• Good understanding of data lake / lakehouse architecture.
• Proficient in English (C1) for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Building and deploying data-driven and ML solutions for portal personalization and campaign ranking.
• Taking care of the whole ML process – data quality, algorithms, features, validation and interpretability.
• Monitoring, maintaining, scaling, and updating ML pipelines.
• Building solutions with clean code, testing, and automated deployments.
• Collaborating with data engineers/scientists and developers on ML infrastructure.
• Explaining ML solutions to business stakeholders and tech teams.

Join the limango IT and Product Development team! In the limango IT and Product development you get the chance to contribute your own ideas and know-how to maintain and develop our highly frequented, self built online shop for our markets in Poland, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Together with our experienced and international development teams you will bring our shop sites to the next level.

As a Machine Learning Engineer in our Machine Learning Shop team, you will own the business-critical logic behind our campaign-based flash sale model. Your work will directly impact how we rank campaigns based on customer interests and category affinities, optimize our product recommender systems, and prevent churn through smart communication models.

You will work within a modern tech stack world in a well-rehearsed, agile environment alongside dedicated Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Web Developers.

Your Main Tasks And What We Expect

• Building and deploying data-driven and machine learning solutions for portal personalization and campaign ranking.
• Taking care of the whole machine learning process – verifying data quality, choosing optimal algorithms, feature engineering, model validation with correct metrics, and interpretability.
• Monitoring, maintaining, scaling, and updating existing data / ML pipelines.
• Building solutions following best software practices – clean code, testing, and automatic deployments.
• Working closely with data engineers, data scientists, and development teams in building our whole ML / data-driven infrastructure – reliable data pipelines and shared, clean data sources.
• Explaining and recommending optimal data-driven / ML solutions to both business stakeholders and developer teams.
• Sharing and improving ML / MLOps knowledge within the organization.

What We Expect

• 3-5+ years of professional experience building, training, validating, and deploying ML solutions in production environments.
• Very good knowledge of Python programming, SQL, and Git.
• Experience in training and validating ML solutions (decision trees, neural nets, regression models).
• Ability to scale solutions according to infrastructure or business requirements.
• Good understanding of data lake / lakehouse architecture.
• Good knowledge of English (C1) (work in an international environment).

Nice To Have

• Professional experience with recommender systems and NLP.
• Previous experience in ecommerce data ecosystems.
• Professional experience with PySpark programming and the Databricks Lakehouse platform ecosystem.
• Experience in structured streaming and Scala programming.
• Familiarity with MLOps environments such as mlflow.
