Role Summary
We are looking for a Lead Architect who combines strong technical expertise with a natural commercial and consultative mindset.
In this role, you will design modern, scalable, and commercially compelling solutions, primarily in the cloud domain, while also working across infrastructure, data management, integrations, and software engineering.
This is a key role in winning new business and supporting strategic sales opportunities. You will work closely with clients, Sales, and Delivery teams to understand business needs, define the solution strategy, and translate it into an architecture, proposal, estimate, and compelling value proposition.
What You Will Do
- Act as the trusted technical partner for clients, Sales Managers, and Client Executives, leading the technical dimension of strategic sales opportunities.
- Analyse clients’ business and technology needs, translating them into requirements, assumptions, risks, constraints, and clearly defined business outcomes.
- Define solution strategies and design high-level architectures across cloud, infrastructure, data, integrations, and applications, considering scalability, security, delivery feasibility, and cost.
- Lead discovery workshops, technical presentations, demonstrations, and clarification sessions, and confidently defend proposed solutions with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare proposals, RFI and RFP responses, statements of work, architectural assumptions, estimates, and technical pricing components, ensuring an appropriate balance between value, cost, quality, and risk.
- Coordinate contributions from subject matter experts, architects, and Delivery teams, ensuring the solution is validated and effectively transitioned into implementation.
- Develop solutioning standards, reference architectures, reusable assets, and sales-enablement materials, while mentoring less-experienced architects and consultants.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in IT, including practical experience as a Solution Architect, Lead Architect, Pre-Sales Architect, Technical Consultant, or in a similar client-facing role within an IT services or consulting environment.
- Proven experience designing complex client solutions and leading architectural decisions from initial discovery through to transition into Delivery.
- Strong knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Good understanding of cloud-native architecture, cloud migration and modernisation approaches, security, governance, and cost optimisation.
- Broad understanding of enterprise architecture, including infrastructure, applications, APIs and integrations, data, security, DevOps, CI/CD, and non-functional requirements.
- Experience designing scalable and resilient solutions using modern architectural patterns such as microservices, API-first architecture, event-driven architecture, containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience in pre-sales processes, including discovery, proposal development, RFI and RFP responses, statements of work, estimation, solution costing, and technical solution defence.
- Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and balance business value, cost, technical feasibility, security, quality, and delivery risk.
- Experience leading workshops and presentations for technical, business, and executive audiences.
- Strong communication, consulting, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- A proactive, accountable, collaborative, and pragmatic approach to solving business and technology challenges.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher, enabling you to lead workshops, presentations, negotiations, and proposal development.
