We are looking for a Solution Architect with 5+ years of architectural experience, strong leadership capabilities and fluent English, ready to fully dedicate to solution architecture ownership in complex, business‑critical environments.
This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, enterprise architecture and AI‑enabled solutions; we expressly look for generalist architects—capable of designing holistic solutions across multiple IT domains rather than narrow expertise.
You will work on strategic initiatives for a global leader in the maritime transport industry.
What you will be responsible for:
- Own solution architecture from problem framing to target design, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and enterprise strategy.
- Partner with senior business and IT stakeholders to challenge requirements, clarify objectives, and co‑create optimal solutions.
- Design, document and defend end‑to‑end solution architectures (TADs), including key decisions, trade‑offs and risks.
- Define architectures that are scalable, resilient, secure and future‑ready, aligned with technology roadmaps and standards.
- Act as an architectural leader and mentor, setting direction and influencing teams without line management.
- Ensure strong handover to delivery teams and support implementation at an architectural level (without hands‑on coding).
- Drive architectural governance, quality and consistency across initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to embed AI, automation and intelligent decisioning within enterprise solutions.
- Contribute to the evolution of architecture practices, frameworks, tooling and ways of working.
Required experience & mindset
- Proven experience as Solution Architect / Lead Architect / Enterprise Architect in complex, multi‑system environments.
- Ability to operate at a strategic and conceptual level, not limited to one technology or domain.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold), from a design and governance perspective.
- Experience designing event‑driven architectures, with architectural exposure to Kafka in enterprise‑scale ecosystems.
- Solid understanding of system integration patterns (APIs, events, workflows, orchestration).
- Hands‑off but delivery‑aware: able to guide teams without performing operational or development tasks.
- Demonstrated leadership behaviors: ownership, decision‑making, influence without authority.
- High business acumen and excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of AI concepts and enterprise AI adoption (e.g., AI‑enabled platforms, automation, data‑driven intelligence).
- English at minimum B2 level.
Nice to have
- Experience designing solutions in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Familiarity with enterprise integration and messaging platforms.
- Exposure to architecture governance models and frameworks.
- Experience working in large, global, matrix organizations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (1–2 trips per year to Marseille).
- French language.
What's in it for you?
- Courses and certifications (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, ITIL)
- Wellbeing programs & work‑life balance - integration and passion‑sharing events
- Private medical and dental care
- Family‑friendly offices: Supporting working parents
- Co‑funding of sport activities (e.g., Multisport & OK system cards, b‑active program)
- Conferences and expert communities
- Gift packages for special occasions: Easter, Christmas, Children’s Day
- Appreciation for seniority: additional days off, Atos Jubilee gifts
- Charity and eco initiatives
- Hybrid working mode (max. 2 times per month in the office, based on your location)
Your benefits could vary depending on the employment contract type.
