Job summary

Baker Hughes in Warsaw, Poland, is seeking a Lead UPG Systems Engineer to oversee system definition (P&ID) and process integration for Upgrades solutions across legacy products and Climate Technology Solutions. You will align new designs with site configurations to improve efficiency, availability, and life extension of turbines and compressors.

The role requires a Master’s/PhD in engineering, strong knowledge of fluid systems, and experience with Matlab/Simulink, FlowMaster and HYSYS.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, or equivalent.
Experience in Oil & Gas or energy-related engineering environment.
Knowledge of fluid systems and familiarity with computational simulation tools (e.g., Hysys, FlowMaster, Matlab/Simulink or similar).
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (Italian is an advantage).
Ability to work across functions and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with Six Sigma, Green Belt certification, or Root Cause Analysis a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead system design of auxiliaries for Upgrades solutions (lube oil, hydraulic oil, control oil, water cooling, fuel gas, liquid fuel, seal gas, ventilation, gas detection, fire protection systems) with process definition, items and instrumentation selections.
Attend site surveys to define new supply and integrate it in existing plant; reverse engineering mindset.
Develop predictive system design through modeling and numerical automation (Matlab/Simulink, FlowMaster, Hysis) to foresee transient behaviors and define high level control logic.
Execute design, analysis or evaluation of assigned projects adhering to standards and requirements.
Interact with internal interfaces (ITO Team, Project Engineering, Project Manager, other disciplines, Testing cell, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Service).
Interact with external interfaces (Customers and Suppliers) to maximize proficiency; manage OPEX Spare Parts support for Auxiliaries and Instrumentation items.
Provide technical leadership and coordinate activities with external engineering; manage engineering hours budget for productivity.
Demonstrate inclusiveness and collaboration within the team and environment.
