Job summary

Astek Polska, part of the Astek Group, seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer for an engineering client. Lead implementation and improvement projects from initiation to delivery, defining scope and success criteria while coordinating cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a university degree, 5+ years in project management, and strong PMO knowledge. Fluency in English (German a plus) and PM certifications are preferred. Long-term collaboration and professional growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a university degree; PM education is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of hands-on project management experience with a proven track record.
• Strong understanding of PMO processes and project methodologies.
• Proficiency in applying project management tools across the lifecycle.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders up to senior management.
• Solid planning, organizational, and communication skills with stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
• Fluent in English; German knowledge is a plus.
• PRINCE2, PMP or PMI certifications are a plus.

Position

We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Lead Mechanical Engineer for our client from the Engineering industry.

Offered salary

Salary: from 90 to 110PLN net/day, depending on experience and competences.

You’re ideal for this role if you:

• Hold a university degree; additional education in Project Management is a strong advantage.


• Have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivered projects.


• Have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, PMO processes, and industry best practices.


• Are proficient in using project management tools and know how to apply them effectively throughout the project lifecycle.


• Have experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organization, including senior management.


• Demonstrate strong planning, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


• Are confident in managing project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.


• Are fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is an additional advantage.


• Hold a recognized project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or another PMI certification — this would be an additional asset.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Leading implementation and continuous improvement projects from initiation through successful delivery.


• Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.


• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, plans, schedules, and timelines.


• Building, organizing, and coordinating cross-functional project teams.


• Managing project budgets and ensuring that agreed objectives and deliverables are achieved.


• Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.


• Providing regular project status updates and reports to the Management Board.


• Supporting and mentoring team members in developing their project management skills and experience.


• Developing, standardizing, and continuously improving project management processes and best practices across the organization.
