Job summary

Astek is seeking a QA Engineer – Manual Testing for a biotechnology client in Poland. You will analyse requirements, design and execute test cases, and perform manual testing of complex systems, including embedded software.

Collaboration with developers and product teams will be key, with an emphasis on quality and process improvement. Strong English, and experience with QA tools (JIRA, Confluence, Polarion/HP ALM/QC) in Agile contexts are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software testing experience.
• Hands-on manual testing of complex systems, embedded or system-level.
• Create, maintain and execute test cases, scenarios, and docs.
• Analyze requirements (SRS/SDS) and map to test coverage.
• Execute tests, identify defects, and report bugs clearly.
• Develop test strategies and adapt testing approaches.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, Office 365.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies and Polarion/HP ALM/QC.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Position

We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of QA Engineer – Manual Testing (he/she) for our client from the biotechnology industry.

Offered salary

Salary: from 720 to 920 PLN net/day, depending on experience and competences.

You’re ideal for this role if you:

• Have 5+ years of professional experience in software testing
• Have hands-on experience in manual testing of complex systems, including embedded or system-level software
• Are experienced in creating, maintaining and executing test cases, test scenarios and test documentation
• Have experience analysing requirements and specifications, such as SRS and SDS, and translating them into effective test coverage
• Have solid experience in test execution, defect identification and bug reporting
• Have practical experience implementing test strategies and adapting testing approaches to different projects
• Have experience working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams and Office 365
• Have good knowledge of software QA methodologies, processes and tools, such as Polarion, HP ALM/QC or similar
• Have experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Are comfortable working with documentation and in regulated environments
• Have a good command of English, both spoken and written

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Analysing software requirements and specifications (e.g. SRS, SDS) and translating them into effective test coverage
• Creating, maintaining and executing test cases, test scenarios and test documentation
• Performing manual testing of complex systems, including embedded and system-level software
• Developing and implementing appropriate test strategies and testing approaches based on project needs
• Executing tests, identifying defects and documenting clear and actionable bug reports
• Monitoring test progress and ensuring that testing activities are aligned with project objectives and quality standards
• Collaborating with developers, engineers, product owners and other stakeholders to analyse issues and drive their resolution
• Contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies and testing practices
• Working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Polarion, HP ALM/QC, MS Teams and Office 365
• Supporting testing activities across different projects and adapting to changing project requirements
