Job summary

Vend in Kraków is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to bridge data strategy with day‑to‑day product engineering. You will ensure data products are architecturally sound, well documented, and highly usable by downstream consumers.

You will mentor teams, drive data standards, and scale the Data Mesh across Mobility, Real Estate, Jobs, and Recommerce verticals while collaborating with central platform teams. The role is hybrid with 3 days remote, and reports to the vertical CTO.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in event-driven architecture and Kafka topic design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms like GCP/BigQuery or Snowflake.
• Mentorship and coaching of product teams on data practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering within product teams to deliver reliable data products.
• Scale Data Mesh strategy across four core product verticals: Mobility, Real Estate, Jobs, Recommerce.
• Define standards, governance, and observability for data products.
