Job summary

GFT Poland is seeking a Team Lead Data Engineer to design and build scalable data platforms for a large financial services transformation. You will drive data engineering best practices, lead technical initiatives, and deliver batch and near real-time analytics in a regulated environment.

You will mentor engineers, promote CI/CD and AI‑driven engineering, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver critical data products. Hybrid work in Kraków is offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
• 12+ years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills
• Hands‑on experience using AI in the software development lifecycle
• 5+ years of experience with Databricks
• Strong cloud experience, preferably Azure
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments
• Experience designing high-performance applications with strict non‑functional requirements
• Experience building automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to rapidly prototype and harden solutions using sound engineering principles

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data platforms and data processing solutions
• Lead batch and streaming pipelines for high-volume data processing
• Drive data engineering best practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and maintain Databricks‑based data solutions
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data products
• Create prototypes and evolve them into production-ready solutions
• Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements like high throughput and low latency
• Support data integration initiatives and application modernization
• Participate in knowledge transfer and handover activities
