Kingfisher plc in Kraków is seeking an Engineering Squad Lead for the Cloud Data Platform to lead a squad building and operating scalable data platform capabilities across our cloud estate.

You will guide engineering practices, governance, and delivery, work with Databricks, UnityCatalog, and DBT, and partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure data products that empower data teams and engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• Leading the squad responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving the Cloud Data Platform.
• Collaborating with Engineering and Data teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data platform capabilities.
• Squads are led by an Engineering Squad Lead who focuses on day-to-day delivery, people leadership, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Act as the line manager for engineers within the squad, planning and orchestrating delivery of work and building a cohesive team.
• Drive continuous improvement across the squad by increasing impact, effectiveness, and efficiency through clear ways of working and collaboration.
• Inspire, coach, mentor, and provide regular feedback to team members, conducting regular 1-2-1s and supporting development plans.
• Lead performance management by supporting goal setting, conducting constructive discussions, and ensuring expectations are understood.
• Communicate a clear vision, shape the squad’s impact, and foster leadership capability.
• Support incident and operational management for squad-owned services to keep the platform reliable and secure.
