Job summary

McKinsey & Company is seeking a senior product leader to head the data and AI product function within the Growth, Marketing & Sales practice. You will own the product strategy, roadmaps, and delivery across multiple data teams, partnering with data engineers, architects, and AI specialists to transform data into actionable client value.

You will coach two Product Managers, drive governance, and align with stakeholders across global time zones.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product experience owning complex data, platform, or AI products
• 2+ years managing and coaching product managers
• Prior experience in management consulting or a multi-stakeholder professional services environment, ideally within retail, CPG, or RGM
• Strong technical fluency to collaborate with engineering and architecture teams on data pipelines, APIs, and complex platform dependencies
• Deep practical grasp of core data concepts, including quality, lineage, governance, privacy, security, and data contracts
• Experience building and scaling ML or generative AI products, including managing sensitive data and the underlying infrastructure they require
• Ability to use AI and agentic tools effectively and responsibly to accelerate research, requirements, and product workflows
• Complete ownership of the product lifecycle, from discovery and roadmap strategy to delivery, launch, adoption, and value-driven iteration
• Strong discipline in managing complex dependencies, establishing clear acceptance criteria, and delivering reliably in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to structure complex choices into clear recommendations for senior leadership
• Based in a designated hiring office, with the flexibility to collaborate across global time zones and McKinsey's expert network

Responsibilities

• Lead the product function, roadmap, and delivery of data- and AI-enabled products that drive client and business value.
• Manage two Product Managers, raising the product quality bar and supporting their growth.
• Collaborate with data, engineering, analytics, and AI teams to ensure robust product delivery.
• Oversee a ~50-person Data organization and drive end-to-end lifecycle from discovery to adoption.
• Define product vision, roadmaps, and success metrics; translate user needs into clear requirements.
• Establish disciplined intake, ownership, and commitments for scalable platform capabilities.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives, balance value and governance, and optimize cost-to-serve.
• Maintain direct client/user contact to ensure visibility into progress and risks.
