Job summary

Groupon in Warsaw is seeking a Junior Payroll Analyst to learn the full payroll cycle hands-on while supporting end-to-end monthly processing and data preparation for our external provider.

You will work with AI-assisted workflows to automate checks, reconcile outputs, respond to employee payroll queries, and maintain documentation. Mentoring will guide you toward Payroll Analyst and Senior Analyst roles.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a corporate environment.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and deadlines.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and willingness to learn AI-assisted ways of working.
• Good written and spoken English (B2 level) and additional European languages are a plus.
• A growth mindset — you ask questions, take feedback well, and want to build expertise.
• Discretion in handling confidential employee data.

About the role

Groupon's Payroll Operations team delivers accurate, compliant payroll across multiple countries. We're looking for a Junior Payroll Analyst who is detail-oriented, eager to grow, and excited about using AI to modernise how payroll gets done. You'll learn the full payroll cycle hands-on while working in a team that actively builds AI-assisted workflows — this role is ideal for someone starting their payroll career who wants to develop both operational and digital skills.

What you'll do

Support end-to-end monthly payroll processing: collecting and validating inputs (new hires, terminations, absences, bonuses, benefits), running verification checks, and preparing data for our external payroll provider. Reconcile payroll outputs against HR system data (e.g. gross-to-net checks, bank detail and absence verifications) and flag discrepancies. Work with AI tools (e.g. Claude) to automate repetitive checks, build reusable workflows, and improve process quality — with training and mentoring provided. Respond to employee payroll queries and support communication with payroll vendors. Maintain payroll documentation, checklists, and SOPs. Support audit and SOX compliance activities by preparing accurate, well-documented control files.

What we're looking for
