Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Kraków is seeking a Junior GL Accountant to support global month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. The role reports to the Lead GL Accountant with a hybrid schedule (2 days in the office).

You will perform daily cash reconciliations in SAP, support automation projects, and assist with external audits while driving process improvements across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Very good knowledge of English.
• Advanced MS Excel skills expected.
• Professional and driven to grow general accounting skills.
• Highly organized with accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations and journal entries for prepaids, payroll, accruals, leases, intercompany, cash, notes and fixed assets.
• Support closing administration by recording journal entries, cost distributions, and reporting.
• Perform global daily cash reconciliations and SAP-based clearing.
• Support automation projects related to robotic process automation and Blackline reconciliation.
• Perform fixed asset tasks: CIP setup, capitalizations and monthly depreciation.
• Ensure internal controls as per Global Financial Controls Organization.
• Assist external audits with timely deliverables and integrity.
• Identify process improvements and document standard operating procedures for reconciliations.

As a Junior GL Accountant, you will perform general accounting activities for the Global Westinghouse organization. You will support efforts around process improvements through the centralization of month end closing procedures, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal/external audit functions for all Global locations. you will report to Lead GL Accountant. The team is working 2 days per week at the office.

Responsibilities:

Prepare Blackline account reconciliations and journal entries for the following business process owner (BPO) functions: prepaids, payroll, accruals, leases, intercompany, cash, internal notes, and fixed assets.

Support closing administration functions by recording journal entries, cost distributions, and generating reporting, Blackline administration.

Perform global daily cash clearing account reconciliations and clearing of aged open items in SAP.

Support automation projects related to robotic process automation and blackline account reconciliation transaction matching.

Perform fixed asset accounting tasks: CIP project set up, capitalizations and system administration to run monthly depreciation.

Perform internal controls outlined by the Global Financial Controls Organization.

Support the external audit activities ensuring the integrity and timeliness of deliverables to the auditor.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in existing business practices and create standard operating procedures documentation for account reconciliations and journal entries performed globally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Very good knowledge of English

Advance MS Excel user

Professional and drive to grow general accounting skills

Highly organized, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all work.

Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously while delivering timely results and responding quickly to evolving priorities.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 7,333 to 9,133 PLN gross per month.
In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
