Commerzbank Digital Technology Centre Poland seeks a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team in Łódź. You will build scalable web applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies. The role emphasizes RESTful integration, microservices, and agile practices within a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has experience with OpenShift, Docker, Azure, and AI-assisted development tools. Fluency in English and Polish at B2 level is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java 17+ and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience building scalable web apps and RESTful services.
• Familiar with cloud-native deployments (OpenShift/Docker/Azure).
• Strong microservices and modular architecture understanding.
• Comfort with Agile/Scrum development processes.
• English and Polish at B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java web applications using Java, Spring Boot.
• Contribute to cloud-native app design with containers and OpenShift/Docker/Azure.
• Ensure alignment with architecture principles including microservices and serverless concepts.
• Provide expert incident resolution support and problem management.
• Mentor juniors and promote best practices in development.
• Implement and consume REST APIs for frontend integration.
• Prepare builds and release packages for test and production environments.
• Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot for code generation and testing.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement efforts.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with expertise in Java, Spring, and a passion for building scalable, efficient, and innovative solutions. Familiarity with frontend technologies, AI tools and an understanding of the agentic approach would also be considered as beneficial skills.

Your Main Tasks

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure web applications using Java, Spring with Spring Boot.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud‑native applications using containerization technologies (e.g., OpenShift, Docker, Azure Cloud).
• Ensure alignment with architecture principles, including modular design, microservices, and serverless architecture.
• Provide expert support for incident resolution and problem management.
• Provide consultancy and technical guidance to junior team members on development aspects, ensuring adherence to best practices and fostering their professional growth.
• Implement and consume RESTful APIs for seamless integration with frontend systems and data exchange.
• Prepare software builds and release packages for deployment into test and production environments.
• Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, testing, debugging and improving productivity.
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies like sprint planning, retrospectives, and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Have

• Actively explore and evaluate AI tools and technologies to identify opportunities for optimizing development processes and improving efficiency.
• Build responsive and user‑friendly interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
• SQL skills.
