Job summary

DSV is seeking an IT Test Engineer to plan, design, execute, and document software testing activities across the lifecycle. The role focuses on identifying defects, validating functionality, and supporting continuous improvement to deliver high-quality software.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of testing experience, strong knowledge of testing principles, and hands-on experience with test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps, plus SQL and API testing familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of software or application testing experience.
• Strong testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation; familiarity with API testing tools.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum; advantage for enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to develop test scenarios and cases.
• Plan, prepare, execute, and document functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing.
• Validate software against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, solution managers, and users to resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, scripts, and documentation.
• Support test environments and test data management.
• Participate in release validation and deployment verification.
• Perform manual testing and support automated testing initiatives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and metrics.
• Provide regular test status reports to stakeholders; participate in Agile ceremonies.

Purpose of the job:

The IT Test Engineer ( IT Test Manager) is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and documenting software testing activities to ensure that IT systems, applications, and integrations meet business and technical requirements. The role focuses on delivering high-quality software by identifying defects, validating functionality, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibility/ Tasks:

• Analyze business and functional requirements to develop test scenarios and test cases
• Plan, prepare, execute, and document functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing
• Validate software functionality against business requirements and acceptance criteria
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, solution managers, and business users to resolve issues
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test documentation
• Support test environment preparation and test data management
• Participate in release validation and deployment verification activities
• Perform manual testing and support automated testing initiatives where applicable
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, and methodologies
• Provide regular test status reports and quality metrics to project stakeholders
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in software or application testing
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps,etc)
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques
• Familiarity with API testing tools
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Experience with enterprise business applications is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
